Linda Blair, played the part of the posssessed girl (Regan McNeil) in the film “The Exorcist” (1973). Linda was nominated for an academy Award and two Golden Globe Awards, finally she won one. In 1997 she appeared also in Exorcist II : The Heretic.

Linda Blair’s first steps

Linda was born in St. Louis Missouri but she was raised in Westport, Connecticut. Linda started her career as a six- year - old child model and her acting at the day soap Hidden Faces (1968 - 69).

The highest moment to her career is when Linda was chosen among 600 other candidates to play the part of Regan McNail in The Exorcist (1973). The acting skills of Linda Blair earned for The Exorcist film a Golden Globe and People’s Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress and an Academy Award nomination.

Linda Blair’s career after Exorcist

As I have already mentioned on previous articles, Exorcist is one of the best ever horror films and it was nominated for 10 Academy Awards.  The Exorcist was a huge commercial success.

In 1977 Linda Blair appeared in The Exorcist II : The Heretic. Unfortunately, The Exorcist II was just a shadow of the Exorcist film.

In 1980’s, Linda Blair, played parts in successful horror movies like Hell Night (1981), Chained Heat (1983) and Savage Streets (1989).

In 1980’s, Linda Blair appeared in Repossessed (1990) and also in a Cameo in Scream (1996).
