Prometheus is a Science Fiction film with significant elements of horror and adventure ,Prometheus was directed by Ridley Scott and the film script was written by John Spaihts and Damon Lindeloft. The plot structure  is the about the adventure of spaceship’s crew “Prometheus” searching for the birthplace of humanity into the unknown dark space, far away on a distant planet they discover an advanced but aggressive civilization. They have found am advanced alien society which is a threat. Aliens want to destroy the human race  .   

The idea of film Prometheus started by Ridley Scott and James Cameron in 2000. Initially, Ridley Scott was thinking about a prequel of the legendary Ridley Scott's film “Alien” (Ridley Scott, 1979). The first draft of Prometheus film was developed as a prequel of Alien - Riddley Scot’s film, but Riddley Scott wanted to avoid repetition of already known cues from Allien franchise.  Actually, Prometheus is a pre Alien story - structure but the film can not be related easily , as Ridley Scott’s Alien. Ridley Scott has commented that Prometheus film shares stands of Allienand it takes place in the same universe but Prometheus creates it’s own mythology and it’s story has it’s own film characteristics that can stand alone and individually from Alien. Prometheus is beyond any and above of just a prequel, it;s a unique, unforgettable and significant film.

The film Prometheus was filmed on practical sets and on location in four countries (England, Spain, Iceland and Scotland). Prometheus film was filmed with 3d cameras and also the fictional universe where the story structure is developed was created by using 3d models.        

Prometheus film is based on practical effects and the use of Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) on set and for pre - visualization and on external space visuals. The 3D Company 3ality Technica hired to facilitate the filming of Prometheus with 3D cameras. Actually the 3D equipment was based on post Avatar Technology. Beyond the innovations in production there were also innovations and use if viral marketing techniques aqnd strategies to promote the film Prometheus - among them a 3D trailer - a youtube channel - social media likle twitter and facebook.

Also after the first TV advertisement broadcast viewers were encouraged to share their opinions about the trailer on twitter, some of which were shared love the broadcaster. Actually, in Prometheus promotion campaign was the first time that viewers tweets were used in a broadcast advertisemt. Also the book “Prometheus : The Art of Film” with content of the production art and behind - the - scenes photographs were released in June 2012.

Prometheus film tries to answer a question about the human existence, it’s concept it’s based on a theory developed by Erich von Daeniken “Chariots of the Gods”. According to Daniken’s theory life on earth was created by Aliens.

In an interview in “Hollywood Reporter” with title “Ridley Scott, Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace : Tease Prometheus at Cine Europe” - it was stated by Ridley Scott that “NASA and the Vatican agree that it is almost impossible that we can be where we are today without there being a little help along the way ….. that we are looking in Prometheus (film) is at some of Erich Von Daeniken ideas of how human come about”.

Actually after the Prometheus a large number of questions has not found answers and there is enough space for sequel films of Prometheus.  Aditionally, on 17 March of 2012, during the Wonder Con convention, Ridley Scott, announced that Prometheus leaves many questions unanswered and these could be answered in a sequel film. Also, in an interview in Hollywood reporter reporter the writer of Prometheus Landerfof said that many plots elements were left unresolved so there can be a sequel film to develop even more Prometheus concept but actually Prometheus can stand alone.
